In managing TV equity disbursement, our agency aims to provide a high level of compliance that may be absent in the current management of investments across the industry. Unfortunately when PIA / LIA agreements are in place, the context of the reporting of equity returns is sometimes lost in translation. The reliance of third parties to ensure reporting compliance are followed, needs to be managed. This may be time consuming for the Producers, so we provide a one stop agency that ensures the Investors whether they are Producers, TV Companies or other parties are protected. Recent work undertaken generated over 1.8 million dollars for an investor, without systems in place prior to this project this equity may not have been captured. All equity returns may then be re-invested into new content development and may also provide critical information on the worldwide sales and returns to investors when managed efficiently for appointed local and overseas distributors. We will prepare detailed reporting and analysis if required to the investors on the status of the content sold worldwide.

Working with distributors of content such as HBO, National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, All3Media, SBS, ABC, Apple and more, garnering strong relationships over the years has provided a strong understanding of their reporting structures along with an excellent network of contacts. These relationships stand us in a good position to manage the content from first delivery to expiry regarding disbursement management.

DAS Management

CIM Agency manages the Disbursement Administration Service.  The disbursement bank account receives the returns relating  only to the DAS. We will administer the account and issue each period a disbursement report which details the gross proceeds from the appointed sales agents, source of receipts, GST, net expenses including any residuals costs if applicable along with Producer and Investor statements detailing their percentage share of equity return as outlined in the recoupment schedule of the PIA. We will liaise with distributors of the content if issues arise ensuring the reporting is timely and in accordance with the distribution agreements.

DAS Registration

To register, firstly we will issue two forms for completion to the Producers, our registration form along with an equity finance form.  On completion these should be returned to us. The Producer should also advise and provide copies of any post-financing agreements and advise their sales distributors that we have been appointed as their Disbursement Agent. This is to ensure copies of their reporting are received detailing revenue and costs.

We will then issue the appropriate Disbursement Administration Service Agreement (DASA) for review and approval along with the set-up fee invoice.

Disbursement Statement

The statement will detail the gross proceeds received and the source of these returns, Producer approved expenses, disbursement administration fees and the GST on the relevant transactions along with detailed equity returns.
